BedroomBrain Records is an mp3-only record label devoted to releasing the work of underground artists using their home studios to create remarkably original music.
Here at BedroomBrain we specialize in experimental and innovative music in the genres of Electronic, Electro-Acoustic, Turntablism, Post-Rock, Lo-Fi, Dream-Pop, and Free-Improvisation. We are especially interested in artists who are so unique and imaginative that they defy classification, or at least incorporate elements of greatly diverse influences into their work.
BedroomBrain is a very small company with very limited resources. We tried doing the whole CD-R label thing for a while, but it just wasn't economically feasible, which made us feel sad and angry because we have great artists who make crazy cool music and it just wasn't being heard. Because of this, we abandoned our capitalistic ways and started offering free mp3 albums. Albums are packaged as zip files; this way you get the whole album (including artwork) in one convenient package.
Here's the catch: due to limited server space, we can only store the albums for one artist at a time. So, we've started out with our first artist, and we'll make our way around the roster one artist at a time. We will change our featured artist every time the current artist gets at least 10 album downloads. So, if you want to hear more great music, you can speed up the process by downloading the current artist's albums.
By the way, all of our artists have granted us the right to give their music away under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 License. Please read the license before downloading our music and distributing it publicly in any way.
BedroomBrain was founded in December 2003 by Al Albers who is also behind the music of otto77, BedroomBrain's first artist.
