We are a small record label based in Leipzig / Germany and we produce a kind of music here which we call - for the lack of a better term - DIGITAL LAPTOP REGGAE (DLR).This means nothing else but that we produce first and above all REGGAE music (or DUB) in it's classical sense, which in itself is nothing new, but since we're having a background of mostly electronic music we're doing this with the tools that are obvious to use for that purpose - computers and machines! While keeping the original Roots vibes in.

NET-EPs (OVERVIEW)

disrupt - A Fistful Of Dub (May 2004, 4 Tracks)

Released on the highly recommended PHONOCAKE netlabel in May 2004 this EP was more or less the result of some experiments I did with Reggae running on a laptop and in this way highly contributed to define a kind of music which we name DIGITAL LAPTOP REGGAE or DLR here. So in retrospective it presents the first DLR-release ever made.

disrupt - Roots Matrix EP (Feb 2005, 4 Tracks)

Four deep digital dub roots tracks here on our first JAHTARI EP! Prepare for 18 mins full of speaker-shaking basslines, space-age sounds and general delay mayhem of bitcrushing deepness in a room between the CPU, SonicFiction and Rastafari!

Various Artists - Drum Song Source Codes EP (Jun 2005, 6 Tracks)

An highly experimental 6-track One-Riddim-sampler. Six artists from the most different fields of electronic music started with the same classic Reggae riddim and beamed it to new sound dimensions! With amazing results!

disrupt - Jah Bit Invasion EP (Jun 2005, 6 Tracks)

Finally appearing on the incredible Cologne-based IDEOLOGY label is the JAH BIT INVASION EP. Sound-, rhythm- and dubwise those tracks represent something of a new level of Digital Laptop Reggae. Closer to the general feel of the great Jamaican era of Dub in the 70ies but at the same time deeper into the laptop production technology a lot of surprises and structural experiments went into them.

Rough basslines are driving the songs contiuously forward, get out of sync with the drums - only to meet them again later on while colliding with crazy synth lines, bitcrushed offbeats and general sample mayhem. So turn up your amp and light one up for each new track! Or at least a big one for the whole EP... :)

Blue Vitriol - They Went To Titan (Nov 2005, 6 Tracks)

A sonic voyage to the moon of Titan in the Saturnian system - and an endless trip to the outer rings of Dub itself! VERY deep and spacey EP in every respect. Made for listening to it as one piece and in infinite loop mode!

LIFT-OFF-OFf-Off-off!

Ras Amerlock - Farther East (JAN 2007, 8 Tracks)

Flashing trip through dubby history aboard Ras Amerlock's spaceship laboratory! An echo-driven time machine, jumping from a glorious past straight to an unknown future, conveying deep studies into bassline gravity, Zero-G-offbeat science and deadly Snare-Blasters underway. Switch on your Sens-I-Mania life support systems!

Dubmood - Atari-Ska L'Atakk (Jan 2008, 6 Tracks)

Smashing ChipDub-Ska-EP from ATARI tracker legend Dubmood. Six tracks full of love for the rough Ska classics of old, bursting with sheer virtousity and an obession for funky details. A sure winner full of hits, this grooving beauty is bound to make you dance while grinning from ear to ear.

Tapes - Compuriddims EP (Mar 2009, 8 Tracks)

Coming straight from a warehouse studio amidst the dirty streets of London-Hackney is this hissing beauty by Mistah Jackson "Bassbin" Bailey, here in the guise of his project TAPES.

Picking up the tradition of 1960ies pioneers of electronic music, like the people at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Giampiero Boneschi, Piero Umiliani and all the other forgotten library heroes, TAPES is taking it an easy step further towards bass country. Blowing a healthy dose of Ganja smoke into ever-spinning wheels of his 4-track machine and clashing it properly Dubwise with skanking subs, hi-current powered drummachines and a heap of MAX-MSP madness the result will simply make your ghettoblaster weep with joy...

This release will also be available on a strictly limited CASSETTE edition - yeah !! Along with the Compuriddims EP comes more fun on the B-Side - a Dub sample library for your own sample pleasure! This library is released under CC -nd. Meaning you're explicitely allowed to use those sounds in your own productions, alter them, twist them and even SELL them!
